News filming my yard from a helicopter!

Thank you so much!

I will get the records and I will film it all, if I know in advance when they are coming I will call the press.

When they come I will bring the goats in the house, they cost me $450 and I will not let them take them away!

I moved my sick chicken inside, if they see her they might decide that all of the chickens are sick, she has a genetic illness but I don't expect them to know that.

I can't afford a lawyer, but my uncle is a lawyer so he is helping a bit but we have to file everything.

I don't know about the health department, but I am pretty sure you are allowed to tell the police to kindly remove themselves from your property, unless they have a court order or warrant.

You could, also, remove all the animals from your property. Send them on vacation.

Now with all the publicity on having chickens, yourselves, me, and the other South Floridians who want to have some, this is great news!! Its time to change the laws!!!

hahaha at the guy who said that his dogs were clean but chickens get lice......um yeah dogs get fleas, which IMO are a hundred times worse. Chicken lice can't live on human skin for long, but dog fleas SURE CAN!!!!!!!!

When I was having animal control issues I seriously had plans to put the chickens in our crawlspace under the hosue unitl it blew over. Technically it's part of the house so they couldn't get them from under there. Fortunately I haven't had any more trouble since I moved the roosters offsite. Animal control around here is nothing but a bunch of bullies!!!!

This is such horrendous reading - I find it hard to believe in this day and age that there are still people who take pleasure in inflicting pain on those of us who own and love our animals - I wish you and your Mum well - despite the despicable people who delight in causing you and your family such upset!

Luckily I live in France where there are no such restrictions - my goats, chickens (35 of them), 5 Roosters, 2 horses, 25 ducks, 12 chickens and 3 donkeys all have a great life here - I could never have had these animals in England so I emigrated - it was more about having enough land than local laws and regulations - England can be picky but I do really feel for you - I thought America was more advanced than your neighbourhood - seems you have to drag some of your selfish neighbours into the 21st Century - and perhaps the SADDO's who will entertain listening to the misery they are causing you - hope one day they GROW UP and realise that their lives are emptier and sadder for not having had the love you and your Mum have for your animals and vice versa!

Good luck - your Avatar is soooooo.... cute!!!

What on earth would the health department be looking for? Do you have a commercial business where someone may get sick if the health department doesn't make you comply with health safety laws? If you are legal and they can't see a problem or smell a problem from public property, then why is it any of the health department's concern?

As a taxpayer, I would be irritated thay my tax money was being spent by the city police department escorting the health department (another tax supported entity) wasting time on something so rediculous.

I would move those animals off the property until they finish the inspection...
I'm afraid that they can take the animals...
Also... make SURE that yard is cleaned up and the animal pens are clean too...
Good luck!

I don't have a business, they are just harassing us legally they can't come on to the property and they can't get a warrant.

We have had news reporters and the police come and smell the coop area and not one of them has said that it smells!

We had the goats for 5 months before they even found out and they only knew because of the helicopters!

We do have a plan for what to do with them. if we know a bit in advance when they are coming I have some friends that can keep them for a while, but if I don't my father and mother will stall them at the door for a minute and my siblings and I will take some salad at the back door so that they all go to eat in the garage and then we will close the door and lock it. I hope that we will be able to get all 32 chickens inside.
