Kitty's ALWAYS wanting to go out, then in, then out, then in.

I think it's because she's always wanting food and hopes her auto-feeder outside has let out some food for her to nibble.

We're NOT going to do an auto door. Too risky when this happens:

She was outside in the rain and decided to catch a live bird and was determined to bring it in the house.

So, nope. Not going to make it easy for her to bring tons of injured animals into the house.

I wouldn't do a door either. Our 3 kitties leave their victims all over the yard for the dogs to bring in if it's necessary.

Things with Caly have been going mostly well! She's turned into (especially if we let her) an 80% inside cat... often sleeping inside on one of our beds during the night, and super-lazy on the couch during the day. We call her the kitty-couch-loaf:

... or she'll go outside and hang out on the fence / wall:

... but I'm SERIOUSLY reconsidering her spending too much time in the house.

Yesterday I found this:

NO idea what it was, I started walking around the house to discover the cause:


She had foam-pad totally stuck all up in her claws!

I guess she was bored and scratched up the pad. It took her a while to get it out of her claws. I'd like to think it was a learning experience not to do it again, but I'm not convinced that will happen.

While doing / waiting for a backup of BYC before doing some updates, I found, downloaded, and printed this ball cat toy.

It printed with a break-away ball inside, so it makes noise while she plays with it
