No apples on the apple trees....what's up with that?

Think back to last spring. Chances are it got warm and the trees budded out then a late frost killed them. We had the opposite here, got warm and stayed warm so the trees, both domestic and wild, are loaded--apples, peaches, pears, even the kewis. The only problem I have been having is the deer reaching up and eating the pears--they have completely cleaned off the Moonglow tree. I doubt bees are the problem. Also keep in mind there are certain varieties that bear on alternate years--this is especially true if you have some of the heritage varieties.

My apricot and plum, nothing. We did have a late freeze this year, so I dunno. The dang squirrels ate all my peaches. Oh yes it is war on the fuzzy tailed rat. Soon as the leaves drop they will have no cover and "BANG!!!!". Squirrel stew for us. Last year they ate my plums.......grrrrrrrr.

Yes so true, but with no apples that a sign of killing freeze, kill all the buds or blooms. those other you will still get a few. another sign it was the weather, all fruit tree in the area, but not in other areas.

I forgot to mention that I have a picture of our beautiful apples we got this year on My Page. They were so pretty I couldn't resist a snapshot!

Sharron--interesting about the stink bugs theory. We have them here and they have just about destroyed all of our garden--I hate those nasty things!

thats my husbands theory, i do know theres been alot of them this year, altho first time i've seen the brown ones, i do know theres alot on my kentucky wonders, on everything in the garden i guess
we had alot of fruit on the trees this year, then all of a sudden it started dropping off, of course on the one apple tree our animals depend on for treats and they enjoyed them as usual this year but everything else, nothing and the leaves dropped off too, naked trees in the summer but the trees are still alive?????
