Lemme know how this goes... and if they allow dogs. I would be very interested if it's a yes on the dog. We love camping.

Ok, I'll ask about dogs too.

We can't have dogs at the Chickenstock, so Haley would have to stay at the campground, even though she is a very cool dog!

I'll also ask about kennel/doggie day care facilities then.

For anyone looking for a quite nice hotel, I heartily recommend:

http://www.tallmanhotel.com/

It's a lovely hotel, recently restored, and its attached restaurant, the Blue Wing Saloon, is also excellent. It feels like you're at a special resort, with it's wonderful patio and grounds. It's in Upper Lake, about 20 minutes away.

This is a nice restaurant in Lakeport where you can eat with a view of the lake: Park Place Restaurant

The Kelseyville location works for me, and depending upon various scheduling issues, I am planning/hoping/intending to come.

I've never camped at Clear Lake State Park, but I've visited many times. It's quite close to the Chickenstock site. It's a beautiful place, on the shore of the lake, and has nice restrooms/showers. We love to go there in the quiet season, in winter, and hike the various paths, admire the osprey, etc.

In June, and graduation weekend, it might be busy and/or noisy, if that's a concern.

Thanks for providing all the great links! I'm planning to camp. Hotels are not in my budget right now.

Ok, the group sites are taken already but I went ahead and booked 2 family sites in a quiet part of the park. The total cost for 2 sites was $136.00 and we can hold up to 16 people and at least 5 tents on those 2 sites. We can also accommodate 2 vehicles and 2 trailers (maybe others can park at the event site and we can carpool in). I have a call in to the ranger about kennels but it looks like a no on that unless the town offers something.
I will forward the confirmation email to anyone camping with us once it arrives (they said within 48 hours). It's mini vacation time!
