No. Calif. Chickenstock June 5, Kelseyville! memories and pics, p. 42+

I'm guessing it's for both Friday and Saturday nights, since Sunny has to drive down from Reno. In order to get there at a reasonable hour on Saturday, she will need to already BE here. I'll be 3 of the 16 camping people. I hope plenty of other peeps join us so it's not too terribly expensive. Peeps????

Hey guys,
So if anybody needs dog accommodations, my MIL gave me some names and phone numbers of local kennels.

J Lord Kennel (707)279-1624

Wood B ranch (707)245-8294

and she said this one sounded the nicest.
Clearlake Kennels (707)9945241

I feel really bad not allowing dogs at chickenStock, but My mother In law isn't comfortable having strange dogs at the ranch, plus she has 3 and DH and I have 2 that we will have to lock in the Garden. Hope there are no hard feelings

Thanks Kelsey Girl! I was trying to get this info but the ranger couldn't remmber the names of the kennels in town. She did say there was a brand new one that did doggie daycare and that it was a really nice facility! It's so new it's not in the yellow pages yet but the names you gave are probably enough. Thanks again.

Yes Steffanie you are correct. This reservation is for 2 sites and for 2 nights (friday the 4th and saturday the 5th). We can't make it there early enough on Saturday, especially to set up the BBQ and start cooking on time, so we are making a weekend of it. The camp is beautiful from what everyone has said and I love the lake so we are really looking forward to it. If we get 4 families to camp then it is only $34 for each family for both nights. That is a great deal.

Ok, Orpington Manor and family + DH and I makes 2 families, who else is in? I can cancel the other site for a fee if no one else is in but I didn't want to take a chance on losing these great spots so I booked them. O.M. I sent you a copy of the confirmation e-mail for your records.
I'm getting so excited! I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. Camping with lots of folks is one of my favorite things to do. I love the community feeling when camping. Don't do this near enough since the kids are grown.

BTW we have extra blow up beds if anyone wants to borrow a couple (these old bones don't take to sleeping on the hard ground like they used to). We also have electric pumps to get them set up quickly. We really rough it these days when we camp!

Sunny, I have king-sized sleeping bags that I use at a mattress under my down sleeping bag. I don't rough it much either.

Camping is always fun. For anyone who might be thinking of camping, my DSO has a 13-year old son who will be with us. Anyone with kids want to come along? He would love the company!

Yes bring the kids. There are nature trails and swimming so they won't be bored. There's even a WiFi hotspot at the visitor's center. I hope someone's up for a card game as well (gin rummy or Oh heck?). I'll help make breakfast on Sunday morning before we head out. Anybody got any fresh eggs?

Yes our dog loves to go camping with us too but I know my Dad will spoil her rotten while we're gone.

Happy to have you eastbaychicks! Maybe we can talk Orpington Manor into making a little extra Monkey bread just for the campers!

That makes 7! We need another family with kids so the 13 year old is not bored with us old folks.

Although there will probably be lots of kids in the campground and at the event since there is swimming etc.

BTW the ranger says that we are in a pretty quiet part of the park. That we probably wouldn't have liked the group sites anyway because they are noisier. Although day time noise isn't a problem for me it's the 3am noise that I can't hang with.

All California state parks are pretty good about keeping a handle on that kind of stuff though. Wish I could say the same for Nevada camping

(my best advice there is don't).
