Hi All,
Still lurking about this thread, SO wanting to attend. It's going to be so much fun; Thanks you guys are doing a great job planning.....

This morning, I had such a strong feeling of dread about this event, I was not even sure why, but then the light bulb went on: It's becuase I love my chicks, and I don't want to bring ANY of them to give away! HAHA! Seriously, I adore them so much, I worry about stressing them out by taking them somewhere.

Any tips for building a good travel cage? I know it should have room for food & water plus protection from the sun. Any other tips would be appreciated.

I will RSVP for sure as the event gets closer and check in w/ y'all to see what I can bring foodwise/supplywise. I should change my name to "flaky-chick" but I'm sure someone on BYC already has that name!

I know the feeling. I'm so attached to all my babies but I just don't have room enough for all of them. I'd much rather BYCers get them though. At least I know they are well infomed with access to lots of help if they need it!

KelseyGirl great idea! Do we have access to electrity for the younger chicks? Mine will be 7 weeks old by then and won't need extra heat in June but some probably will.
Oh everybody bring something to shade them with plus frozen bottles of water in case it gets too hot for them.

Eastbaychicks you are so funny!

Orpington Manor can your SO's son invite a friend? I have an extra 3 man tent (really only fits 2 comfortably) they could borrow.

Don't y'all laugh when you see our tent. It has 3 rooms! One extra room for the dogs and the other was for the kids (last one just moved out). I'm still bringing it though 'cause it's tall enough to stand up in so it's back friendly (and this old back appreciates that) and it holds 2 queen beds + easily in the main room.

My DSO is really into fishing. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to get him to put a pole in the water.

I take it you're not into fishing? Since usually it's just the line that's dropped in the water not the whole pole.

Go ahead, blow another raspberry at me. I deserve it.
