You are a wonderful person for sacrificing your plans like that though. Hopefully we'll get to meet you at the next one.

We'll see how well behaved I am the day of. I'm still really bummed, even after sleeping on it. Have a BLAST!

We will, thanks! I'm really excited about this trip but we were really looking forward to camping with you.

It's gonna be so much fun though! Maybe you could just sneak up for a few hours.

JK, DH probably needs you for support.

Well, its official, we are staying home.

On the up side our yaks arrived this morning bright and early.

The weekend of chickenstock my neighbor has asked me to host a stop on the fiber tour so folks can see the yaks and their fiber. It's good promotion for the yaks, the community, and our ranch. I'm sorry not to be able to come and yak about chickens though! Kelseygirl, we'll miss seeing you again and your family's place--maybe another time? The ducks are doing great; enjoying the outdoors and their roomy house.

I'm always bummed out whenever someone can't come. You all are such amazing peeps! Getting to put names with the faces makes the online experience much less surreal. We'll miss all who can't come!

But, that does give us an excuse to put the next Chickenstock in the back corner of our minds.....

Sunny, yes I will update the first post with camping info. Sorry I didn't do that last night. I just got home from work, and need to tend to the critters. (Speaking of...... how's the babies? It will be fun to see how yours look, and have you see the one roo I suspect, since he will have to come to Chickenstock.)

DSO says he will invite one of his son's friends to come along.

Kelseyville is so close for us! But we leave at 9AM June 5 on vacation.

However.... since most of y'all will be driving right by my house on the way up.... if anyone goes up the 4th and wants to come by for birds or eggs, let me know. We'll have new Barnie chicks by then! Favs too if you let me know now to hatch some.... or eggs.
Also available; Splash Marans cockerels (4), BCM cockerels (2), Mottled Java pair, all from 3/10 hatch from eggs from OnTheSpot; Partridge Penedesenca cockerel & Wheaten Marans Cockerel from Gabbard eggs & Barnie from my egg, from 2/21 hatch.
And....just hatched last week, 6 Olive eggers (bunch of chick colors but all the eggs were Olive) & 2 Barnies; I will be keeping one or two pullets from the Olive eggers. If anyone is interested I'll report back on gender as they show it... and pics.
New pics going on my BYC page tonight I hope... have to wait til they go to bed to get the last few pics, then load em all at once.

And... if someone does stop by, I can send some yummy Chipotle/Garlic Chevre for the feast.

Hate to say that I will be staying home on this one

My mom and my mother-in-law are both coming to town early for our kid's graduations that are on the following weekend and there are a ton of things to get in order and clean up. Imagine: two mom-in-laws under the same roof? This place had better be CLEAN!

Lucky for us, we have rented a beach house for three days and three nights, so less pressure on us and our little house, but they will still be staying at our place for a few days.

Sorry to drop out, but too much going on to go on a weekend road trip.

I'm back home now after dealing with death for two weeks, it's nice to have new life happening in my house with three eggs pipping right now, total 35 in the bators (couldn't candle before lockdown a I wasn't here) so it will be a bit of a mystery what hatches!

I will have to travel quite a bit over the next few months to help my loving fiancee settle his sister's affairs...but I hope I can come to chickenstock even though it's a trek-I'll have to read through the thread to get caught up on details

I might have to wait till very close to the date to RSVP properly...is that ok? We are taking one day at a time here.

Sorry for such a long (more than you want to know) saga

Aw, it's sad to see people unable to make it... Regardless, I'll be there for sure!

The chicks I'll be bringing along for sale or trade are growing up beautifully! Some gorgeous birds in there.

I hope some of them will find happy new homes! I'm waiting a little longer to choose who's going and who's staying because they have a few more weeks to grow and feather, but already they're starting to look like pullets or cockerels, which is good news.
