No Chick starter?

I also use an all flock feed from the start... ironically my chicks don't actually get starter feed until about 2 weeks old, when they start getting a little time with the adults (and the adults are eating it too). This is due to the size of the starter feed I use (the all flock crumble is smaller and easier for them to eat.)
I guess I can say I’ve used all flock for the little ones also. I just put a dish with the starter and another with some mushy all flock incase she tries offering it, that way she won’t be offering big crumbles/pellets. I also like fermenting their scratch grains and sometimes the all flock. I just blend it up a bit (scratch) and they go bananas for it, so adorable.

I actually ferment the starter I use... that's another reason for me to delay feeding it to the chicks, as they don't eat it as readily until they see the adults going wild over it.

I have 3 day old silkie babies and they didn’t hesitate on waiting to eat. Mama just had to call them once and that was it, they run up to anything they see/hear, they don’t even wait on her to eat now😂

It’s like when little kids hear you open a bag of chips , running up to you “I like those chips too” 😆

As my chicks are human raised, they don't have mama telling them what's good to eat and what's not, so sometimes there's a bit of reluctance to try new foods when they're offered.
