no crowing, but she is huge. male or female?

Oh wait.. I see what everyone said now..oh.. Nevermind. 😞 but.. But but but
.... I cant get rid of... Him... He's soooo sweet!!! He throws a tantrum when i leave and he follows me everywhere, cuddles on my lap, sleeps in my arms, and he is scared of other people and wont come when they call him. If i ended up getting rid of him, (which i guess i will have to if he's a roo) would he be stressed and get sick/not eat? We're very bonded to each other. He loves me as much as i love him.
Are you allowed to keep roosters where you live?

And he's 16? 15? I think 16 weeks old now and hasnt started crowing... I dont have any other roosters, only hens, so he isnt the lowest ranking, so you'd think he'd crow? I've read people had a "rooster" and people were swearing up and down it was a rooster and they had 1 hen that layed 3 eggs a day, turns out, said rooster was actually a hen.. I guess anything is possible so I'll be keeping him/her until egg laying maturity. ...i guess you never know.. Dang, why is it so difficult to tell chickens genders??!
Different roosters start crowing at different times.

OP's bird is a hen. Very weird that it's not laying... This is the third mature chick who has a masculine face and isn't laying I've seen... Perhaps a hormone problem or intersex but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion by any means. Not a rooster though, hatchery RIRs are super quick to mature and would definitely be showing a multitude of signs by this age.

Okay LOL. Sorry if that was snotty, I more meant it as like “ha-ha, actually...”
It’s all good, I probably could have responded better even if you did mean it bad. 😉 I see how you did mean to say it. I’m very used to people using “haha” as in a sarcastic way.
