to everyone who guessed on the gender of my chicken....its definitely a rooster. I took one of the hens out to show a friend and the rooster was so mad that I took her out of the pen, he gave me dirty looks and tried to advance me, but i didnt let him. Thanks for all the guesses. Kudos to all the rooster guesses!!!

too true, i had someone who has hundreds of chickens and she confirmed my suspicions. "he" has never shown any type of aggression until today. I was holding a hen outside the run and he wasnt very happy. I just let him know that i am Alpha.

Ah, but I am thinking this is a case of “damaged ovary, trans hen” not “rooster that became a rooster when he was a year old.”
