No Day 21 Action- Please help!

is the membrane around the hole dry? If she is stuck, you need to dampen the membrane . So warm up some water, drip a few drops into the hole, you might have to enlarge the hole just a little. Then let the membrane absorb the water and loosen itself and with some luck the chick will be able to free itself a couple hours later. Worst case scenario you have to open the shell to get it out but if the membrane is dry then try dampening it first so it can hatch by itself and if it hasn't gotten out a few hours later then open up the shell around the head, see if that is enough, don't rush things but don't let it struggle forever. It needs to hatch within the next day or it will lose too much energy.

Thank you for replying. I'm going to give her the rest of the day and night longer, and if she doesn't get the hole bigger, hatch, or move from her position, I think I will intervene by doing what Mellowmalt suggested.

If I see a chick has piped but not through the membrane and the egg has sat a few hour I either put a small hole at end of egg as described in assisted hatch article or i put a very small hole in the membrane. The membrane should be white and no veining showing. Sometimes I put a little coconut oil on the membrane afterwards.

Not yet. She's still working on that hole- a small piece of eggshell is covering some of it and she can't seem to dislodge it. I'm a little worried about her. She's had five hours to get that piece of eggshell off, and she can't seem to do it.
