WOW... LOTS of sudden egg song practicing going on this morning! Never heard it before today but man they are squawking up a storm today! I'm sure the neighbors are thrilled, lol. I have them confined to the coop/run instead of free ranging today just in case we get an egg! The RIR "Ginger" is singing up a storm and the BA "Syndey" is copying her.

Oh Yeeeaaahhhh....that's a sure sign laying is imminent, nests should be getting messed up soon too.

Yup! She has been in the nests shuffling around the pine shavings and kicking out the ping pong balls I had in there! This is so exciting Having chickens is fun!

It is fun and exciting...tho my pullets, 3rd and largest batch, drove me nuts with their cacophonous squawking this year.

Might want to get something heavier than ping pong balls.....or somehow fill them with sand, seal with glue or wax maybe.

That is probably true!

We got our 3rd egg from her today. She's on a roll! She's gotta teach the other two how to do it and then we'll be able to do some holiday baking
