Those girls that are squatting are very close to lay. Guess it all boils down to patience!!Not for me. They haven't been that "friendly" yet. They don't let me pet them yet. I believe the austrolarps are squatting. I've noticed that they will lay very flat sometimes. But the RIRs have not at all
Yep! Playing the 'waiting game' is awful! I remember when one of my gals was getting super close to laying. She'd go in the coop...outta the coop...in the coop...outta the coop...all day long!! Drove me nuts! The day she finally did lay her first egg...holy mackerel!! You should have heard that egg song!!! I ran out to the coop and there...it...was. What a day!
