I heard him in an interview. He said he is working with the Humane Society to try to educate kids about cruelty to animals. I agree that donating a portion of his salary to animal shelters would be a very good idea.

ummm he was betting on his own games....yeah, that's a crime......LOLl! And i hope he never gets into the hall of fame!

Ok, my daughter was attacked by a pit! I know as many others know ,pits can be trained to be fighting dogs. Well at one time that "pitbull" was the family dog, like the golden retriever is today. In the 50's they were huge family dogs, a working breed, loyal and friendly. We all watched the lil rascals, didn't we? It was you doberman pinchers that were you pitbulls of the day. then they breed that out of them. German shepards, the everyday cop dog is another breed that was once mean. Big bundles of dog slobber and kisses now. My dog is half rotti and shepard......oh what a killer~ he sleeps with the chickens...LOL

You can make any breed mean, you can breed that out of them as well! They have done it many times. I believe each dog should be judged individually and not as a group. Imagine if we did that to people??

My daughter walks around with scars on her head and shoulder and even i know it was the owner who made that dog mean!!! that dog when it was a puppy was given raw meat, beat daily with ropes, hung from trees to give strenght to it's jaw, given protien
shakes, steriods and here i will save the best for last......Rubbing alcohol in it's last months to make it crazy~

It broke off a chain and traveled 5 acres onto my ex's property. Saw my daughter and went for her as she tried to get in the garage to safety. By the grace of GOD my ex brother in law was running out the door and caught the dog(one hand in mouth, other on tail) as it went for it's kill bite around my daughters neck. He swung it around with all his strength and threw it against the wall as my daughter laid knocked out from it's first blow. It then attacked and almost killed their 2 dogs that ran to save my daughter. My ex father in law couldn't get it off the dogs but ran for his gun because 4 more were coming up the trail. It took my ex to get a ruler and pop it's jaw loose(lil trick we knew from breeder friends)

I could have lost my daughter to that dog that day. I BLAME THE OWNER WHO MADE IT THAT WAY!! Not the breed of dog it happened to be~

Sigh, now i wanna cry cause i haven't told that story in whole in like 10 years~~~

A dog is a dog , doesnt matter the breed potential for anything is always right around the corner , it just takes some one looking for it to find it.

I can't tell you how many people think my female black lab is a pit bull, or the gigantic American Bull dog I once had.

Fattie, your girl is adorable. I'd get a Pit if it could handle year round outdoor living guarding the poultry but the winters here are just too brutal for such a short haired breed.

A dog is a dog ..I wouldnt trust any dog ...from a Yorkie to a wolfhound ...until I am ready ......Our Golden retriever comes from a fantastic breeder ....she has worked with us ever step of the way ...she even took him back for a couple months to really see his "mood " swings...we had him from 9 weeks old ...passed puppy school ...grade one and two from one of the top training facilities in this area ...he's been socialized from day one ...but he snarls ..and snaps ..like a wolf...luckily my kids are older now because I couldnt have him around young children and when he around kids he's on a leash with an adult ...with us he's learning ...we have had him to two behavourlists and then went Cesar Milan way ..which helped alot ....One minute he's happy and play full and another minute he'll flip....he's getting older ...he's 3 yrs old now and he's settling down more but oh vie ....we still have to show dominance with him .....we also have a black lab who's a sweet heart ...also the golden is friendly with most other dogs ...plays and plays ...

Wow! There are alot of understanding people on this site! Yet another reason I

Either way, dog lover or not, PIT BULL lover or not, I'd get a gun and drop a dog, ANY dog if it was attacking any member of my family. Again, I am so very sorry for you and your DD

The owner of that dog should have been turned to a hungry mountain lion, bear, or the likes. But anyways...

We have a dog that is ½ pit. She can be aggressive. When she was only 10 weeks my FIL, for some reason I’ll never know, hit her with his hat. Now at age 5 she likes no man that comes in our home that has a hat on not even my brother who has known her since we first got her. If he comes in without a hat she is ok but with the hat on forget it he’s not coming in the house. My MIL and FIL were watching my son and dog at their home everyone was sleeping in the summer house and my FIL got up to go to the bathroom when he came back the dog would not let him back in.

She was showing her teeth to him. He said he had to go back and sleep the rest of the night on the cough. I said good for you. That’s what he gets for hitting her. She still doesn't like him to this day and he tries to make up to her. He said he didn't hit her hard and that he only scared her but now she scares him.

And I love it.

You may want to consider taking him to a neurologist. It is common for a dog to have such mood swings if they suffer from seizures. Not all seizures are the classic physical type. Often the dog's brain is disrupted just enough to cause confusion or for their senses to be off. It makes some dogs fearful and others aggressive. I have a dog with seizures that are now under control. Some seizures cause the physical shaking, passing out, etc. Less noticable seizures just disrupt the hearing, sight or smell of the dog. The neurologist explained to us that when the dog's sense of smell, hearing or sight is disrupted, the dog becomes fearful or aggressive because he suddenly doesn't recognize his surroundings or companions the same way. The dog looks fine to you, but the world is suddenly off kilter to the dog. It may not be what is happening to your dog, but it may be worth checking into. Before we knew that Leo (my dog) had developed adult onset hydrocephalus (it causes seizures) we used to say that he had an evil twin. When he was his happy-go-lucky self, he was Leo. When the Dr. Jekyll side (child hating, temperamental, snappy dog) came out, we called him Lyle, the evil twin. Now that he is well, he even lets toddlers pet him.
