Ok, my daughter was attacked by a pit! I know as many others know ,pits can be trained to be fighting dogs. Well at one time that "pitbull" was the family dog, like the golden retriever is today. In the 50's they were huge family dogs, a working breed, loyal and friendly. We all watched the lil rascals, didn't we? It was you doberman pinchers that were you pitbulls of the day. then they breed that out of them. German shepards, the everyday cop dog is another breed that was once mean. Big bundles of dog slobber and kisses now. My dog is half rotti and shepard......oh what a killer~ he sleeps with the chickens...LOL
You can make any breed mean, you can breed that out of them as well! They have done it many times. I believe each dog should be judged individually and not as a group. Imagine if we did that to people??
My daughter walks around with scars on her head and shoulder and even i know it was the owner who made that dog mean!!! that dog when it was a puppy was given raw meat, beat daily with ropes, hung from trees to give strenght to it's jaw, given protien
shakes, steriods and here i will save the best for last......Rubbing alcohol in it's last months to make it crazy~
It broke off a chain and traveled 5 acres onto my ex's property. Saw my daughter and went for her as she tried to get in the garage to safety. By the grace of GOD my ex brother in law was running out the door and caught the dog(one hand in mouth, other on tail) as it went for it's kill bite around my daughters neck. He swung it around with all his strength and threw it against the wall as my daughter laid knocked out from it's first blow. It then attacked and almost killed their 2 dogs that ran to save my daughter. My ex father in law couldn't get it off the dogs but ran for his gun because 4 more were coming up the trail. It took my ex to get a ruler and pop it's jaw loose(lil trick we knew from breeder friends)
I could have lost my daughter to that dog that day. I BLAME THE OWNER WHO MADE IT THAT WAY!! Not the breed of dog it happened to be~
Sigh, now i wanna cry cause i haven't told that story in whole in like 10 years~~~
