Not for my ladies! I can't imagine getting good results, both with the hens health and production of eggs without layer feed...aaack!!

It's important to keep in mind that chickens are both omnivores and scavengers. This system can work if one has the space and provide a calcium source.

There is nothing new under the Sun. This method of feeding fowl from the peasant's very own dunghill was used for ages by the surfs of Europe. I highly recommend manure as both a chicken feed and a scratching medium.

Isn't there a risk of disease if you let your birds eat rotting food and poo?
