My flock just turned 16 weeks old (BA, RIR, BR, SS). I opened up the nesting boxes a couple weeks ago and thought they would start exploring them. I filled them with straw and a golf ball or two in each. I am not seeing any evidence that they are going in. I fluff up the straw and it's still fluffed up days later. I'm worried they don't like the boxes. Will they just figure it out when they are ready to lay? Or do I need to generate more interest in the boxes by placing treats in them? I really don't want to hunt for the eggs!!

Nothing to worry about in my opinion, my chickens only go into the nesting boxes when they are laying. So yours should go into the nesting boxes when they are of age and ready to lay eggs
