What I have are 2 dead chickens. The second one died today. She is covered with moving white dust. Is that lice or mites??

It's mites. Lice are pretty large and easy to spot. Mites are tiny, hard to see, usually active at night, and spend the majority of their time in the environment and not on the bird. The fact that you are seeing them means you have a major infestation. All the birds need to be treated ASAP.

Agree with using the Sevin dust. Also, if it's that bad of an infestation, try bathing the birds that are the most affected with anti-flea/tick shampoo for cats. I had this happen with lice and my Barred Rock. I bathed her with it and I could see all of the lice go down the drain.

Sounds horrid - that you can see it is bad. Hurry - don't lose another minute without treating....
