Anyone who showed interest and left ME a # or email I had the graciousness of replying. I can't believe how rude people have become.

Happened to me last month from someone selling geese!

Made an appointment to see her geese one evening, said she would be there all evening. I drove 45 miles one way to see her geese. Found the spot with some difficulty using the crappiest directions ever and she wasn't there! She called and left a message on my answering machine that was clearly for another person who may have called, saying she had been out in her yard all evening and missed the call. I can personally vouch that she was indeed NOT out in her yard, as I was in her driveway next to her yard, viewing the geese that I could not buy and she was not there.

Yep, I definitely hate no-shows!

We had a donkey to give away awhile back. One man wanted me to haul it to him 60 miles away. Then for 3 weeks he said every day I'm coming today. He even ask us to haul the little guy to a craft fair we were at said he'd be there early (livestock is not aloud there) that was 2 months ago. Some people at church heard we needed a new home for him and beat us to the barn to get him. All ended well but those no shows are such a pain

I've had the Freecycle noshows and it KILLS me...the stuff is free. you say you're coming for it and you don't show...doom on you!

Yes. I have had the same problem. People begging for me to hold a certain breed of bird for them then don't show up and don't call.

I had some buff orpingtons that a lady said to please hold that she would come the following weekend. Then had someone else who was buying other birds and wanted the buffs also. I said no they are spoken for and now I still have them. Anymore it's first come, first serve.

I have also had the people who want me to deliver one $10.00 bird fifly miles. Also a request to bring birds to work with me and they would pick up after I got off work. Ten hours in a hot truck. Don't think so.

Also had a request for only non biting hens.

After reading all of these replies, I've made up my mind that if I ever advertise something for sale, I'll get all interested callers' phone numbers and tell them to call me when they're leaving their house to come to mine, otherwise, don't come.

I like to think that no-shows wouldn't take care of my birds! God knows that I would rather have someone that was going to care for the chickens. I have been very lucky to have met or talked to many customers that I truly enjoy. I worry about shipping birds with family members and so far there have been wonderful people on the other end! I do enjoy chickens! Sold a goat a few weeks ago because he was jumping the fence. The customer pulled up in a car on its last leg and they put him in the back seat:/. They said that they would update me on him. Finally sent them an E-mail. Their car had trouble on the way home so they bought a brand new VW bug at a dealership and put the little billy in the back seat. Would have made a great picture! What a home! I was thinking of making a chicken stand so people could come by and drop the $ in a can and pick the chicken that they want. Do you think it could work?

I had someone wanting me to deliver FREE chickens and was upset when I said no.

I had about 10-15 no shows when I put something up on craigslist. Chickens, garage sale lots and even my PS3. I did have a few people from africa try to scam me though.
