Hi everyone!!! Michelle from Raleigh. Well, we're actually closer to Garner and Clayton. Love this website. We got our first chickens in May, just after Tour d'Coop. Still NO eggs yet. They are 20 weeks old today. They sure are fun though

Hi I am new here, I live in Macclesfield NC its about 17 miles from Greenville. My husband got me 10 baby chicks for easter and they are now laying I'm so excited. We didn't know they had started laying and I found 11 eggs in the coop about 12 days ago. Didn't want to throw them out not knowing how old they were, we made a home made incubator in a day, and put the eggs in the next day. Checked them tonight and wow they all appear to have chicks in them! Not sure what they will end up looking like, the hens are all black sex link, and the roosters are 1 Barred Rock, 1 Red Sexlink but I am just excited it seems to be working.

Hi from Graham County, way up in the mountains. Spend time back and forth from Asheville. New at chickens. I just love them, and sit with them whenever I can.

We have a huge area for them that we have completely covered. The government in their infinite wisdom, released coyotes into the area, with limited natural food for them. So, they have dined on goats, dogs and cats in the area. They will not get my chickens!!!

Never realized just how beautiful chickens are. We have them for the eggs, but we cannot use will give to the community.

Kathie
