Good morning folks

once again we have managed to survive to Friday!!!!!!

getting ready for a trip is not a relaxing ordeal
I think I'll end up more wore out from this trip
than if I did a strip-down spring cleaning on the house

hope everyone has a great day

Good morning! Just checking in before heading out to feed chickens and horses. Didn't sleep very well last night worrying about my buff Cochin girl. I let her out yesterday afternoon when I got home from work, and a couple of hours later she was nowhere to be found. I went out several times yesterday evening calling her, but nothing. I'm just so sad, I loved that hen.

On a lighter note, I have a bunch of chicks in the brooder and some adorable guinea keets. I will be keeping some of these since they are colors I do not have (and my guinea flock is getting a little small, thank you owl population).

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Good Morning!

CSB...Safe trip! (Or, since I love to drive, I could take him and you could stay home and spring clean my house!

The pullet under the barn was out of the hole this morning, but when I went to collect her, she got spooked by the dogs and went back through the hole.

I'll keep an eye out today, and if I see her back out I'll put the dogs in and go out by myself. At least she is coming out, so won't starve to death.

I got my goat disbudding box swapped out for a trio of Lavender Orps. I'll be picking them up today. Good timing, since my lav Orp got hawked. These will be safe in quarentine for a bit.

I have one of my newly hatched turkey poults that has a curled foot. Never had that before. I can straighten it on my finger, so I'm thinking a splint would help, but I don't know what kind or how to apply it. Ideas?

It's a lovely quiet morning. Hope everyone has a great day!

Glad the pullet showed her shiny face this morning. She sounds like she is making it her home lol.

I use a dime and a bandaid for curled foot for chicks and keets. Not sure how large a foot we're talking about, but coins work great.

She's here! She's here! My Cochin hen was waiting for me when I went out this morning! She was out in the woods where I would never want her to be, and seemed a little afraid, but otherwise she is fine!!! All is right in my world.
