North Carolina

Mr. and Mrs. Langdon,

This e-mail is in regards to a complaint that was filed this morning in our office. The complaint stated that your property at 648 Hummingbird Road was being used in violation of the Johnston County zoning regulations. We are aware that you have many types of animals/livestock that you breed, sell, and show. Please know that to continue to sell animals from this property is a violation of the Johnston County Land Development ordinance.

In order to continue to sell the animals, you would need to obtain a special use permit that would allow you to do so. If this is something that you would be interested in doing, please feel free to let me know. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and look forward to assisting you in any way possible.

we have green cards and live out in the country and own our 3 arces.....so what else do we need?
nosey butt folks...

You'll need a zoning permit from the county apparently and also they may ask you to comply with the state's NPIP program (which is CHEAP )

And guineas.

We already have 4 guineas.

hope you have a peaceful place again soon.

I wish she would just move... we have lived here for 21 years.... and we own it. She has been renting the house next door for about 6 months.

We will be checking on what we have to do, tomorrow... and comply with whatever steps we must. It's just too bad for "her" that she won't get the results she was hoping for. In fact... things might be getting even more unbearable for her.

So, you have a neighbor who likes your animals so much, they don't want you to sell any more?

I'd be interested in knowing how they got your email address. Aren't official notices usually sent by snail mail? Does the email addy correlate?

I love annoying the pesky neighbors too...lol

I'm like this if people can have barking yappy dogs that bark, fuss, howl all day and night that can be ALOT louder and much more annoying than a bunch of hen cackles and rooster crow offs - its unjustifiable to say anything about owning chickens if your rooster isn't going and crowing in their window...lol

Good morning folks

2 more days to summer break............
and I can tell by how wild the kids are getting on the bus

hope everyone's birds are doing good today

Mary........maybe you should return the favor and make
complaints to the landlord or even any offical types
with what that neighbor does.......always fun to give back
or just start heaping on the kindness and eggs.....
that always confuzzles them....and makes them feel guilty

I'm interested in the email thing too? To be official wouldn't some official have to send you something in the mail or visit your farm? Or do you have a friend in the office giving you a heads up. I'm almost 1000% sure an email notification can not be considered as any type of notice and may not be real. It would probably still be good to following your zoning rules if you have such a friendly neighbor but things like that get my hackles up and an email seems really out of the ordinary and unenforceable. Knowing the little bit I know about gov. in NC they usually go way overboard with official notices and state visits (and then answer your questions 2 years after you ask them with 12 different answers) although that may just be where I live.

Yeah they dont usually send an email first.. They usually send code inforcement over the guy with a shiny badge I say scam
good morning yay no rain maybe i can get some work done!

Good morning!

One of my six-month old Ameraucanas was just "sitting" in the corner of her pen this morning instead of running and jumping around like usual. She doesn't look sick, she looks like she is LAYING!!! I hope, I hope!!
