Quote: My rain gauge also overflowed, and it was empty Wed.
I hope that we don't get much more here, The chicken runs are looking more like ponds for ducks then anything.

Dutch -- I looked back at that article I was talking about earlier, about keeping bunnies out of your garden... Maybe this will help!

Fresh jalapeno peppers can be used to repel rabbits, according to North Dakota State University Extension. Run three fresh peppers through a food processor with enough water added to create a liquid. Pour the liquid through a cheesecloth mesh into a glass quart jar. Add about two tablespoons of olive or other vegetable oil, a squirt of Elmer's glue and a drop or two of liquid dishwashing detergent. Use one part of the concentration to 10 parts water. Shake well just before application. This should discourage rabbits without hurting them. If not, then make the concentration stronger (30 percent) or use red cayenne peppers for extra heat. Be sure to reapply after new growth appears or after a good rain.

Every body complaining about the rain. My chickens love it. I try putting them up but they rather stay in the rain. The door is wide open to the coop which it always is. They rather be wet.

I thought about hiring some people to walk behind them with umbrellas. My new hatchlings are drier than they are.

I guess lest my dog is smart enough to get out of the rain. I thought I notice one building a boat.

Thankfully my runs are on a little hill! I am sure the lower areas of the property are mushy. I am not going out to check! lol

The squirrels here got my jalapeno's! And then I had jalapeno squirrel for lunch!

In chicken news: Annie has hatched a few more so I gave that one back to her, and she gladly accepted. Her prior hatch is also in there and one of the hens sits right next to her and lets the babies jump all over here and snuggle under her!.....is it possible for a 3 month old to want to raise chicks?

Wonder if it would work for deer?????

If you click on the link, there is another page for deer... I think it may be a mixture of all of the methods for rabbits, raccoons, etc. Deer are tricky though, they are willing to do anything for a fresh nibble. I'd have to say there's a bow and arrow for those. They taste real nice on my table!

I will hire out my husband if you need some help
