She is beautiful - lovely sheen on her feathers! Sorry it took me so long to answer, I was engrossed in my Del baby hatch.

That's ok. Look at how long it took me to take her picture! She's finally looking better, though. I don't recommend letting them go broody for quite as long as she did. Then toward the end, she molted. I'd love to breed her back to Australorp or even a nice black EE. She's very in-between in appearance. Lovely egg color, though. The auctioneer at Cagles sold her as an "Arkana Hen," but I was talking to the seller as I was buying her. She's the first chicken I ever bid on by myself at auction. My guy was surprised because he hadn't seen me bid and thought the man was handing me a bird by mistake.

Neferset-There is a guy near Statesville with Black Ameracaunas (EE's???) that are beautiful and he is selling them to make room for blues. I have his card. If you thought you wanted a roo, he might be a good source.
I saw his birds at the Morganton show and they were really pretty, very healthy, nice size. I want to get some eventually, after I get my Dels settled.
I always get way nervous at auctions, and get someone else to bid for me- good for you!!!

I lived in Morristown, not too far from Boonton. I also lived just outside of Orlando FL.
