I have 5 new chicks this am hatched under a 1st time mama, should be interesting...she is a bantam mix and the chicks are large fowl, they will out grow her in a month
OK Confession time:
My DD decided we needed to know EXACTLY how many birds are here on the farm. So, we went around and counted
......206 chickens 148 are chicks and 58 adults
Now, remember 1/2 of those chicks will be roosters (at least) and they don't count
27 ducks
15 Quail
6 Guineas
4 peafowl
2 pigeons
4 geese
and 91 eggs in the incubator and 23 eggs under broodies.
OOO and I have 26ish chicks due to arrive week of June 6th AND 30ish Mille Fleur D'Uccles eggs coming this week !
So tell me WHY ????? I am even considering driving to Elizabethtown and getting those Ameraucana chicks that greenfamilyfarms has.
SOMEONE SMACK ME
Whose bright idea was it to tell me I can have any and all the animals I want as long as they live outside ! Yup...the BF wonder what he really thinks now
He did buy a furnace to put in the barn so I could brood outside in the colder months, since I break all the rules and have bunches of chicks, ducklings etc in the house
