We have babies!!!!!!! They started hatching 3 days ago. This is our first hatch and I did not know they could hatch so many days. I thought they would all hatch in one or two days and then be done. So far, we have 6 chicks, 1 pipped and 2 remaining eggs!! They are so very cute!! And , so tiny!! Mama Cochin is so good with them!! We are just tickled to death!! Will post pictures soon!!

Congrats!

It has been so humid the Suro has used very little water in the last 18 days. The water level started out about an inch from the bottom of the bottle cap.

Just after this I set the bator off the cradle and candled. Removed 5 of the 18 eggs. There is one that is iffy. I don't think that is too bad after sitting on my desk for a week after I bought them. Now I just have to wait and see what hatches.

We have 5 babies, and did have 3 eggs left. But, even tho 1 was pipped he did not make it, the other 2 were not fully developed. So, we will be real happy with the new quints!!! Then while gathering eggs, i tripped on a chicken or 2 or 4 or 10!! and cracked 2 of the eggs. So , I lightly scrambled them, and gave them to Mama C and the kids!! She has been so good, never left the nest, ate and drank very little. She deserves lots of treats!! They jumped on it and last I saw they all had egg covered beaks!!

So the egg that was cold in my big bird flock, that I put in my incubator just incase has hatched tonight. I heard this peeping, open the door and it was still in the turner, head down in one of the egg racks. Subsequently, it is now in a container in the base on the incubator drying out...

so we now have another buff orp..... and this was without adding any water!
