Anyone going to WCA or up my way (Raleigh, Durham, Burlington, Reidsville, even Henderson areas) have Silkies??? Chicks or known pullets?

I have a guy and a little girl who I sold some pretty pets to and some nice quality chicks I went and picked up at Morganton for them back in October, he had a family of foxes raid their chicken house after he forgot to lock up Friday night. 4 hens 2 roos 6 teenagers and one of the hens was sitting on a nest of eggs when she was taken off...

The little girl is 7 and lost all her beautiful pets and obviously very upset by it - they are really looking for partridge and splash - chicks or known pullets since they have already managed to get a very sweet tempered roo since Friday.

I have already sold all my extras and culls except 1, and she will be going to them...BUT If anyone can help me help this little girl get her a small pretty flock again I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you guys...

I have some chicks for sale blue, black and blue partridge. But I think I'm more than 2 hours from you :/

Hazel the broody hen update: No eggs hatched yet. Day 21 for the earliest ones put in will be Thursday. Noticed today when I disturbed her while getting her feed put out for her that she had pooped in her nest.

Is this normal? I asked DH to clean it out for me. Yep, I got him to do the dirty work!

Waiting on the first eggs to hatch

. Hoping we get a couple to hatch,

if not I have a source for cheap chicks and if I have to go that route I can get some more breeds I want to add to the flock.

I got all the stuff i need now just need to give it to them. I am going to worm first but all chickens seem ok so I am not to worried. But I did pick up sulmet just incase I need it

Lost a young white orp today she got very sick outta nowhere, lost weight and got lathargic(sp?) brought her inside gave her electrolytes, nutridrench and scrambled eggs. She perked up a bit, then snuggled up in my lap and past away rest in peace Bunnie

Sorry for your loss...I just lost a Lemon Cuckoo Orp Saturday night after I found her all droopy Friday afternoon when she had been spunky that morning. I did the same thing you did, brought her inside and tried to get her hydrated and warm. She had perked up a little too and I went back to check on her about an hour later and she was gone. She was such a sweet baby too. So sorry, I hate not knowing why....

seems like we all had the same symptoms my second cochin was acting all sluggish and stuff and then she passed as well
