Too much humidity. Hmmmm. I have had it happen in the same hatch as a shrink-wrap, but usually the shrink wrap is the last one out. I checked...and sure enough, I left the plugs in. I'm incubating dry, since I've seen that so highly recommended here by several people whose opinions I value. Thanks for the help. I hate that my oversight caused the death of three otherwise viable chicks.

I dry incubate AND leave my plug in ! I have found when I pull the plug, my chicks shrink wrap.

There are plenty of air holes in the Genesis. I fill both chambers at lock down and humidity is 60-69%.

I even hatch dry and in the turner sometime..... well a lot, when I forget to lock down.

) That you NEVER EVER forget or think, I'll look later under a broody thats hard to get to! You will see little ones running around where only big birds should be in no time

Sooooo.tell me how to do this dry incubation?

No water 1st 18 days...let it fluctuate with nature. Mine says 33% right now...I have seen it as low as 16%. Then at lock down....fill the chambers and that's it !
No worries..

I have been doing awesome with this for over a year.
