It takes a lot of work to write a book! I'll be picking that up to read.

And....

Good Morning, Everyone!

Today our Biology Club is hosting a bake sale, so I got up this morning and started baking. Pumpkin cranberry muffins, which are my personal favorite.

Heading to Greensboro tomorrow to pick up my rabbits.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I had set up with the rabbit breeder that I would email him Friday evening to make sure the ones I wanted were still available. At that time, he'd send me his address, too. So I emailed when I got home from work yesterday, around 7:00-ish (boss called a departmental meeting for 3:30 on Friday. Who DOES that!?) At any rate, I have not heard back. At this point, there is no reason to go anywhere. If I have no response by midmorning, I'll call him up. I can go later today, but I kinda had my day mapped out. What ever happened to reliability?

Have a great day everyone!

CSB and RF...I brought those muffins to WCA once, but I don't think you were there. Another time I"ll bring some more...when I start back going.

That is simple...because you are a kind person and animals (as well as people) are always drawn to the kind ones out there!!

On a side note: does anyone know (I am sure someone here does) at what age ducks & guineas begin to lay? My guineas LOVE "roosting" in the rafters of the barn and follow me around while I am outside...I guess it doesn't help that I taught DD to "mimic" them and she will stand around hollering "buckwheat" until they come running. LOL. Since I know nothing of either ducks or guineas I thought I would ask!! Thanks in advance!! Have a great day everyone!!

I'm going to chalk that up to lack of sleep!!

Sad SAD news on the Meadows Farm today. We have 1 missing duck from our trio...it was in the coop last night but this early morning there are only 2. I am hoping that he/she just walked further away than the rest...maybe swimming in our mud puddle at the end of the lane?
fl.gif
I do not know if it was the male or not...I THINK it was!!
hit.gif
There was no noise, nothing to alert us that a predator might have taken him/her. I don't know what to think!! My heart is heavy, I keep wondering if I was SURE there were 3 penned up in the coop last night or did I forget one? The ducks ALWAYS stayed together so I can't imagine I'd miss one that easily.
My news keeps getting worse as I am 90% sure I have FOUR roosters out of my SIX chicks...why is it I can breed roosters but when I am desperate for hens, desperate for eggs, I cannot hatch any/find any/win?!? If I didn't enjoy my chickens/ducks/guineas so much and love living on a farmette, I might consider throwing in the towel....this is SO depressing!!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news and to be such a downer!!

Well its a cold rainy day here, gonna stay inside and do laundry, and get my homade beef stew cooking. Maybe even try out my new mixer and make a pumkin spice loaf.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
