I have 3 extra bantam roos I need to do something with soon, they are still pretty young so I have been giving them time to grow up some, when they are so pretty it's really hard to process, course it's really hard to process period but I know sometime we just have to. I don't raise for food since these are bantam.

Just wanted to pop on and say HELLO and WELCOME to all the newbies!! Cold day here with lots of cuddle time and a serious need for a DO-OVER!! LOL. One of my adolescent roosters mistook my foot for a juicy treat and now I have a gash on the top of my foot...at that same time, DD#1 locked me out of the house and then decided she was too busy playing to stop and use the potty!!

I told you, I need a do-over...LOL The day has gotten better as Daisy Duck (the duck that is the shyest around me) was on the porch and let me hand feed her a piece of bread!!

I fear by the time I win her over, she may be too fat to move!! LOL.

OOhh....side note: saw a photo of a "blue orpington" and all I can say is IF it was real....I WANT!!

Just finished unpacking a shipment of mealworms. I over harvested my bins for the girls and ended up having to order a batch. $31.95 got me 5,000 mealworms from grubco.com. This is the second time I have ordered from them and have been satisfied both times. I wasn't expecting them till tomorrow and had to run to the feed store for a bag of laying crumbles to refill the bins.

Thanks for the compliment on my Chick in a basket:>) I live in Blk. Mt. area and it was 47 here this morning but a beautiful 70 right now with the sun shinning.
I had a bad experience, a friend came over to help me hook up a light/timer on the Coup brought his dog. Yep, you guessed it..dog got one of my Chicks:>( My
friend felt terrible so did I but what can you say LOL he was doing me a favor. He has ducklings and dog had not bothered them. So not really to be blamed.
My Favoriles have not come out of hiding yet, hopefully they will need to come and get water. Hope, hope. Be careful around dogs my friends.

I had the same thing happen a couple yrs ago with a friend coming to visit, her dog got one of mine. Needless to say he never came back. Then the worst was my very own dachshund got one of my ducklings this year that really just about killed me.

Good morning follks

It has cooled enough that I added a light
flannel sheet to the bed......thinking I
may need to add on a blanket soon.
The days have been great and hate
to think it will chill off even more but
we do need the frosts to help with
nature........I wonder how cold it will
get this winter and nothing gets me
in the holiday mood better that chill
in the air.
