Northern California Meet Up/Chicken Swap - Sunday October 10th!

Quote:
I offered to bring wine from my award winning wineries as part of my potluck offering... (Harvest Fair Awards last weekend! Gold medals abounding...Whoo-hoo!) Now I am wondering about bringing six bottles to share if Cheryl is specifically buying wine to resell...??? If I ring wine to share you could get "stuck" with the wine you are buying...Please advise.

Jeremy, is the idea to post eggs or chix we have, but ONLY bring them if someone PM's us about them?

Thanks,

Dawn

Dawn, the for sale page to my understanding is just to generate interest, letting folks know what will be up for grabs at the swap.

However, I feel like if you, or another member sees a bird they like then go right ahead and make the arrangements for the sale, then simply make the exchange at the swap! I know I really don't want to have to cart birds all the way from Oakland to Lafayette and back again, so hopefully whatever I post sells at the meet up!

I'm getting ready to send you my 'futures" I have a pip starting in the bator now...and of course all the other new eggs that will hatch Oct 15th! So who knows what I'll end up with for selling!

That's so exciting! What's hatching right now? BTW, SilverPhoenix, your birds have been listed on the for sale page!

I'll combine the photos into one so it's easy

Pipping right now is a Barred Rock - same stock as the famous "Adventures of Barbara stories"
Also hatching are the Buff Brahma Large Fowl - gorgeous!! and of course your favorite jeremy...the Calico/mille fleur cochins! GEEZ I really hope they hatch...candling was impossible on those little buggers.

NEW INFO-FYI, You also may have noticed the last time you purchased your chicken feed that Purina is using a new laminated bag. I'm collecting these new feed bags for a recycling project. If you have any, I would be happy to pick them up or you can bring to the party! THANKS SO MUCH

Those bags make great reusable grocery totes! I plan on sewing a few and making them into shoulder bags myself.

I wonder if that could be something marketable? ...hm...

ETA: What do you have in mind using them for Cheryl?
