HI! Northern Mendo County here...
Thought I should pop in & introduce my self in the other Nor Cal thread... Have previous posts in the Ca thread.
I'm currently raising 31 baby chicks (2 weeks old now)- EE, BO, RIR, BR, leghorn, LB, Arcona, Columbian Wyandotte
"Retiring" my four oldest layers sometime soon- RIR, BR, Sexlinks
& picking up 7 pullets (RIR & BR) tomorrow in Willits... wish me luck: I've never
picked up pullets before... only hand raised... I'm worried they wont be friendly w/ us.
What is a good way to introduce them to the older girls?

Hope the Summer is doing well for you and the POULTRY!

Mine were FERTILE and PROLIFIC! So now I've got 16 week old Bearded SL Polish(male) x Ameruacanas(female) cockerels. They're playful and handle really well and they have been raised on organic non-medicated feed. The ones with the darker coloring and black tails come from a Green Egg Laying Ameraucana Hen, the lighter ones from the Blue Egg Laying Ameraucana Hen. You can see their parents on my profile page. We have 7 cockerels left!


I also have 16 week old Sizzle Cockerels, (9th generation now!)




Would anyone know of where the local markets in Northern California where I can sell chickens?
You all have first dibs, of course

Hi there! I have Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, Rhode Island reds, and Spreckled Sussex. I am expecting a hatch this July 4th so hopefully i have a few more breeds.
