so I got some eggs from husbands coworker in April. Hatched 6 of 12 silkie eggs and behold and lo, no black skin, no five toes, not sure what but she's beautiful! Any suggestions? I figured I would get a quicker answer here than waiting for husband to remember to ask coworker and more importantly to bring the information back to me correctly
Example:
Me: well, what did she say?
Him: she said it's a chicken.
Me: you forgot to ask didn't you?
Him: I did ask, I forgot what she said.

He, by the colouration, is multi-mixed. I see a crest, so there might be Silkie in there, but it's just as likely to be Polish.

Oh no, did you say he? What made you say that? The feathers? Or the gaping bright red wattle I was trying really hard to not take notice of?

Hey Sylviethecochin, so if it was maybe half silkie it wouldn't necessarily get any silkie traits other than the crest, which I'll admit I did not know that. Sorry I only just started Silkieing this year with the aforementioned eggs. Trying hard to learn all I can so thank you beforehand for your help and knowledge.

Ok everyone! Talked to the lady from whom I got the eggs. The beauty is 100%, drumroll please, A Sebright!
That's definitely not a sebright. Wrong body shape, has a crest (sebrights don't have crests), wrong color, etc.
One of my sebrights:

As you can see, he looks nothing like your chick.
