Not again 😣

Another shell.... less perfect. It feels.... powdery? Its bumpy. There's a calcium residue over some of the shell.

Also, good news, we're getting the hang of these tablets! Divided into three, hidden in blueberries, gobbled down without hesitation. Tonight I'll try halving instead, and hiding in a larger treat again. Fingers crossed!

Calcium deposits

Calcium deposits
These eggshells have white-colored, irregularly shaped spots deposited onto the external surface of the shell. It can range from a few spots to a severe deposit, as shown in pic #6. Causes are:
- Defective shell glands;
- Disturbances and/or stress during the calcification process;
- Poor nutrition, for example, excess calcium in the hen's diet.

She may have a defective shell gland.
Maybe back off on the calcium and give her half of what you are giving her now.

That would be one tablet, so I just won't give her anymore today then

This is a recurring theme, we had a lot of calcium deposits before the soft shells, but that only started recently, before that her shells were always perfect. Would her shell gland suddenly become defective like that? What would that mean for her health/future?
