I collect the nice ones as well. I put them in random locations and then I forget about them though, so

I had a favourite one, Sprightly's, one of her tail feathers. Perfectly rounded... I left it somewhere and never saw it again... I asked my parents if they'd seen it and they foolishly suggested it was in the kitchen. (Clearly that was one of Dougie's).

I've got a bunch too, from the nicer ones I've found. All covered in dust, standing in a glass on a shelf.

It's a shame all of mine are plain white... it'll be nice to collect more variety once I get more duck breeds

I save the biggest, best feathers from my geese and give them to a friend who is a historical re-enactor. He portrays a clerk of the Fur Trade Era and uses the feathers to make quill pens.

I also have vases full of the prettiest chicken feathers, and "memorial" jars with feathers from some who are no longer with the flock.

Things are going quite well!
Laying got mostly back to normal and they're now having a break

I'm hoping this will be it for this winter... but we'll see.

Could it just be blocked with gunk?
