Poor girl is exhausted. Her tail is still quite fanned out

I thought it helps relax muscles? I'll let the medical professionals talk now sorry.
I’m sure not a medical professional there is just no need for Epsom salt since it’s mainly used for inflammation with our birds and of course bumble foot.

I think I have a plan

Vets are closed until Monday
So I'll see how she does tomorrow. I'll double the calcium and keep an extra close watch on her. I'll bring her in overnight and monitor her to ensure she lays safely (if we get through the day without this repeating, that is).
If she is able to lay as normal and is more back to herself, I'll hold off on the vets for now and keep treating from home.

If she has another bad day tomorrow, I can't stand by and watch it keep repeating, I'll call the vet on Monday.
Fingers crossed she does okay tomorrow.

Our vet and the nurses are really lovely, and they did help Dougie before.
But there were a couple of things that she said that I took with a pinch of salt (salt from BYC). And so that's made me skeptical of her knowledge on ducks.
But ultimately, she has access to the proper medicines and tests. So if I have a chance at help, I'd best take it. If this problem pursues

I have to be doing something wrong. Why does this keep happening
Absolutely not something that you are doing wrong. So glad she has passed this egg.

Is there any chance you could take her to a vet and get a hormonal implant to stop her ovulating for 6 - 8 months? That might be enough time for her body to recover. Implants are not cheap but they are cheaper than repeated hormonal injections that last only 2 weeks.

Do you know what price range I'd be looking at for the implant?
I'd consider it if I can afford it

I do not know the price in the UK. In general, drugs are more expensive in the USA than in Europe and your vet charges are less than here too.

Deslorelin (Suprelorin) for Chickens and Ducks:

You might google its availability in England. I can only find this searching in the USA and cannot see a price

Just got her back outside finally
She wouldn't eat the calcium over a treat

I had to syringe it. So I mixed 2 tsp with water, enough to make it into liquid. Then syringed as much as I could into her- I think she swallowed most of it. It was a little tricky as she really fought it. I did 3 syringes and there was a little left over so I'd guess she got 1tsp at least swallowed down.

I put her outside after and she's certainly happier now. Perked up a little- She's started bug hunting but she hasn't eaten yet. (Honestly I think perhaps the syringing the medicine into her mouth just ruined her appetite. Once she's had a minute to adjust herself I'm hopeful she'll acknowledge the food and eat some).
