Iāve had an egg bound duck they donāt go from egg bound to feeling good again without laying an egg so lets hope if there is an egg it comes today. When my Muscovy was egg bound she isolated herself from the flock looked miserable too.
This is how she was, she was sitting in the corner looking very sorry for herself- tail down, somewhat fluffed up, and with a bad limp. Refusing treats, not eating.
Then she felt a little better after her baths and some love, ate a treat. Then continued pumping her tail until around 5 am.
Then she seemed fine, active, no limp, eating, back to herself. I suppose in theory it's possible she laid after I went to sleep, and just ate it- but usually there is some of it left, pieces of membrane, or broken egg yolk here or there... there was nothing to be found.
She was okay yesterday, and laid an egg last night, so I'm not too worried now. But it is very odd. Sprightly can give mixed signals sometimes, but Dougie is much easier to read and I am certain she was having difficulty.
Anyway, hopefully whatever happened is okay now....
