Are you using Corid powder or liquid? And how much are you using?

the 20% powder. In the past it worked like a champ. Already today the blood in gone. bUT she still has a bit of paralysis working. She is eating and drinking, so she's a fighter. Only time will tell. This is exhausting. I have 10 more chicks and I'm almost afaid to do tgeir morning and afternoon checks out of fear of who is next. Gotta make it to a year right? Just 10 more months to go.

Good luck, CeeJ. Looks like my 5 hatchery vaccinated chickens are a year old now and doing very well, and healthy.

I'm not going to be able to keep them separated that long. 6 weeks at most. Really worried about the bio security with hubby trekking back and forth past the coop all day, and the kiddos in and out.

You can give Tylan and Corrid together, but I don't think any others.  I've read that Marek's and Coccidiosis go hand in hand.  It's a very tough road.  I have a vaccinated Polish that's a year old and wasting.  I have her on sulfadimethoxine just incase but tomorrow is the last day of med.  Today she was walking back and forth by my fake waterful, and I put her in front of her water and she drank a lot.  It's almost like she doesn't see, but she does.  It's sooo upsetting.

So sorry. I guess that's the worst part. They can be fine and then out of the blue it can start in. I will try to minimize any stress, but with chickens, that's tough. I keep reminding myself that it's just how it's going to be. Do my best to keep them healthy, but always be ready. Make them comfy and loved and nature will do the rest. I do not really know if I will order more chicks for quite some time. I've had my cart full since my last order, lol, but I have to see how many special needs birds I'm going to have. Two already with vision problems. I will see what the next couple of months brings. With 40 and not able to sell, I'm thinking I will just let these sweeties have the best life they can and rethink how to proceed from there. They have really become my pets and I spend most of everyday watching them free range (hawks and fox keep me close) and/or cleaning/taking care of them. I've been changing my litter every other day trying to keep the nasties down. But I doubt it will help much.

I didn't know I possibly had mareks when I had the chicks. I was back and forth constantly between the existing flock and the babies. Holding and playing with them all in the same clothes, shoes, etc. but so far those birds are ok. But there's constant worry that it can change any time.

I came home today to find one of my silkies limping. I'm very upset. They are already on duramycin for sneezing/respiratory. And sav-a-chick in the water so I guess I'll add vitamin b but I'm very sad my bantam cochin is a little sick too, congested. This is very, very depressing. As you know.

What dosage of the Duramycin are you using?

You can use most of the antibiotics with the Corid. I haven't found any indication not to as the Corid isn't an antibiotic, it is a thiamine inhibitor. Different actions in the body.

Seminole have you tried giving a bit of asprin? It almost sounds like a pain issue. Look, we both know that when it comes to this, there's not a lot that can be done. Maybe some of the Farmer's Friend feed if she'll take it? I had one I took that feed, mixed it with dropped egg and fed. the bird was also getting the Super B Complex in it's water and I also syringed some down the throat. Right now, the bird is up and moving and seems to be holding her own. For how long is anybodies guess. I really think that the vitamin C in the complex has something to do with how well the stuff works. You probably already know that birds synthesize vitamin C. What if, with the Marek's they can't do that or do it as well as they need to? I haven't found anything to answer this so it's just guess work and study of my own. Regular B Complex doesn't have the C and for me, just doesn't cut it very well. Don't know...just trying to catch up here and throw out some of my thoughts.
