Weather channel just stated that 30 states and over 100 million people to be affected by this storm. I can't stop watching even though they tell you the same thing over and over again.
ETA wink smile 'cause it's not meant to start global warming thread.
I feel awful for all of you suffering through this freezing mess,.. wish I could send some warmth your way..

Even though I'm on the fence of Global Warming, this is what is caused by global warming. Over 1500 miles are in the ice zone. This is not going to be a nice storm.

We are suppose to get it in 3 waves. And they aren't about being friendly. Just plain right down NASTY. I'm worried. I don't like being cold, our house gets very cold FAST. In 2009 during that ice storm lost power for 5 days and topped half the trees in our woods. and smashed the garage with one that fell on it. New garage if it happens this time.
Was partly sunny this morning around nine am....it is 12:33 CST...nothing yet. just very cloudy and snow is melting off from yesterday being above freezing temps.
Weather man said we will get around four inches of snow (yeah right! That is what you said the last time!) and ice is on its way, from north of Peoria, IL.
I can't believe I actually was able to locate a kerosene heater! One store had just 2 left! I asked them if they could please reserve it for me and I would be there in less than 1 hour! They said they would. It was great, they were so helpful getting all my purchases in the car. I'm still in shock that I was able to get one as Lowes and Home Depot are all sold out. So I got it assembled and did a test light. Even on low it thru off plenty of heat so pipes won't freeze. Now I just have to remember to fill the tub and buckets with water for toilet flushes.
Sooo... right now it's sunny and 15*. Hard to believe we are gonna get pummeled with something soon. Stay safe and warm and dry everyone!
I have some jugs filled with water and am going to fill some 5 gallon buckets too. I just went out and filled all of my wild bird feeders ~ used about 40lbs of feed as well as 7 suet feeders and corn for the "tree rats".
I am hoping that the ice doesn't tear down the aviary netting over my large coop run. It is heavy duty ~ but that ice is nasty stuff. The snow is eay to knock off of it but ice is a different story.
It was really nice here this morning ~ sunshine and blue sky ~ but you can see the snow clouds drifting in from the west now.
Going to go move some more firewood inside and check the fire...
