Not another storm!

We're supposed to get 3-6" of snow followed by ice and freezing rain.

I work in a hospital so I will probably be trekking through in my AWD - we don't get "snow-days".

So far we have been lucky because the significant snows were to the east and south of us - We probably only got about 8 - 10 inches total so far.

Our winter is finally supposed to kick in on Monday evening with substantial snowfall and daytime highs in the teens with morning lows possibly sub zero. Sweet! I just hope the weather man knows what he is talking about.

The weather guys aren't getting too specific for amounts here. Just a bit of snow followed by rain, sleet, freezing rain. I'll have to make the "executive decision" of when to shovel the snow. Might be better off leaving it there until it's covered with ice, then shovel. It's gets too hard to shovel just ice off a driveway. Ugh!!! "Calgon! Take me away!"

Hopefully for your sake it will reduce in strength by the time it hits you. I am looking forward to no classes so I can work on the barn. Just not the lack of pay checks.

Many years running know with the storms tracking south. Heck I am on the edge of the lake superior snow belt, where winter is from october through May. Winters have been so quiet for at least 5 years know. Our snow is only past my knees. That is not much for a place that "normally" gets 100 inches.

It seems everything tracks south these years..

Good luck with the snow!
(Get some cross country skis and enjoy it as we in the north do..

We got 18 inches this last storm and I am still hiking in and out of my property. yesterday we spent the morning moving more wood into the garage and the afternoon giving in and sledding! It made for awesome sledding by that point!!!!! It was great but my body had to remind me that I am 47 years old not the 12 years old my brain was insisting I was at that moment!

I can handle all the snow the sky wants to dump on us, freezing rain is a completely different issue - SO much more dangerous.

The worst for me is the my days at work vs kids days that they are either off or have delays.

I know it is meant for their safety and I appreciate that, but two hour delays are the worst!

I am also heartbroken over the incredible damage this last one did to our trees!

The apple trees and blueberry bushes we went to work on right away and seem like they'll be OK. But we lost the tops of several huge pines and my row of arbor vitaes looks awful.

So who is being hit by this storm right now an what are you. It appears that I am in the strip to get the major ice. Lucky for me, my days of are Monday and Tuesday, and will be taking an extra day on Wednesday. Three day weekend yeah. Just hope we don't lose the power. I have my incubator running and no wood burner. I hate ice. Sending old man out to get a kerosene heater so I can stay warm he's suppose to be out of town for work, so me and the dogs and cats can stay warm. oh my poor chickies will be cold.
