Not Good News

Burt, I hope you pick a fabulous home for that one-of-a-kind fellow you hatched earlier this year- maybe you and grandson can keep just that bird and a mate or two? It's important for you to keep the things that bring you so much joy around, and just a couple won't be so much work.

I'm praying for you and hope your treatment will be straightforward and easy-going. I hope it's short and massively successful. I pray the docs will have the guidance from God and that your body will respond with miraculous strength and healing.

Let me know if there's anything I can do- I know I'm far away, but I care.

THought of you this morning, and yet I dont even know you. Now i know why you are getting rid of your birds. May you do well and prosper.

i dont know you but uve offered sooooo much good information and advice!!!
you have soo many peafowl i hope you at least keep 1-2.... that brings joy to your life and cancer can make a person feel bad so its important you keep something that you enjoy in life close to your heart in times like these!!!

Deerman, one of the main reasons I decided to join this forum was because of you. I like to read your posts because you have so much experiance with peafowl, and you also have some very beautiful peafowl. All of your stories have been great with the wild deer that you have been able to get close to and who could forget all the bazillions of times you have helped us with our peafowl problems! I really wish I would have joined this forum sooner! I find it cool how on some peafowl topics people will reply saying "Wait for Deerman to reply, he will have the answer." It is the truth, you are very knowledgeable about peafowl and have the answer and more. I really am sad you can't have peafowl anymore, make sure you have plenty of pictures of your birds to remember them by, and maybe record their noise to play durring the summer if it gets too quiet! I hope you can find homes for all of your beautiful birds, and a zoo might even want some...I wish you the best of luck!

I am 16 years old and have five peafowl in a 40x50 ft. aviary that is 15ft. tall at the highest point, I really love peafowl and so if you have a bird that you think would be very friendly to a teenager and would be friendly to the five birds I have, my parents would be interested in knowing the prices and how we would go about shipping because we have never done that before. My dream is to free range some young peafowl because I love watching them free-range and fly up high in the trees to roost. I free-ranged my first birds, but beacause that didn't work well we built a pen and plan to free range the peachicks we raise. We have 10 acres for them to roam and a neighbor who loves seeing them when they visit.
My five peafowl are:
Ice: A 3 year old India Blue Blackshoulder peahen that is the boss.
Dragon: A 3 year old India Blue Pied that is a very calm kind male.
Alto: A 1 year old India Blue Peacock who is full of personality, he is really curious.
Pip: A 1 year old India Blue peahen that is very short, shy, and good at catching bugs.
Damsel: A 1 year old India Blue Pied peahen who is always running around and flying up on perches.

So if you have a peafowl that would fit well with our birds, keep us in mind.

I really do wish you the best.

Here is a picture I made in Photoshop, none of the colors are edited.

Just wanted to say I wish you all the best, and will be thinking about you. I enjoyed your posts, and the information I learned from sitting back and reading.

I also think maybe keeping a trio might be good. It's important to keep things around that bring enjoyment and make you happy.

Hang in there,

Megan

Deerman, Burt, I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish you all the best in your fight. I've enjoyed your posts and particularly the pics of your beautiful birds. Thank-you for being part of BYC and I hope you continue.
