Darn cold the past couple days and I still have one or two gals that will donate to the breakfast cause. Usually gather the eggs as I'm tucking them in for the night.

Just got back and the lone egg was split and hard as a rock. Guess it was a late morning or early afternoon project and was left in the unheated coop long enough to freeze.

Bummer as the last of the eggs got used in cranberry bread last night and I had another project in mind for tonight *sigh* guess I'll have to resort to store bought eggs.

AWWW, I'm sorry about that!

That stinks about the cracked egg !! What stinks more is you have to buy store bought, ewww !!!

I have had a few frozen ones this past week. We have had temps down to -30. I have been leaving them on the counter (or in my pocket

!) then feeding them to our outside kittys. They can really use the extra nutrition right now. Nothing goes to waste around here!

Grawrrrr, I got 3 frozen eggs today, and 1 frozen yesterday. I thawed them all out and fed them to my mini poodle who has just had 4 lovely puppies and needs the extra yummies.

Unfortunate really, I would have had like 7 eggs today if it wasn't for the frozen ones.

Alright, correct me if I am wrong here, but is there anything wrong with eating one that froze and broke? I get painfully few eggs and I did the other day. I mean, by the time the shell breaks the egg is FROZEN so anything leaking out could just be removed, quickly cracked, and used? My eggs look store bought clean when I gather them, too, which could make me more inclined to feel it was a good idea. I didn't get sick though.
