Partridge Plymouth Rocks and both are *supposed* to be pullets but I'm thinking one of each?? They will be 5 weeks old on Monday.

I would say #1 possibly cockerel; #2 definitely pullet.

They aren't Barred Rocks. They are Partridge Plymouth Rocks. They are Partridge colored instead of the black and white barring. Males will feather in with solid colors, while females will have the more general partridge coloring.
The only wa to know for sure, is to watch how they feather in. Right now, they both look like they have pullet-y coloring, but it's a little soon to know for sure.

The only way I can really tell these two apart now is the tail feathers... one is much longer. I hope the pictures are good enough. I need to get some more anyway, if these won't do.

After looking again at number 1, I agree. Both are pullets.

Really??? Yay! But how can you tell?? And does the length of tail feathers not mean anything?

I have this breed of chicken. I base it on the coloring of the bird, the tail feathers are overall rounded. The coloring of there comb. Don't panic as they get a little older the comb will pink/ red up as Barred Rock hens also have a comb.
I hope this helps. I hatched out 5 BR at home and spent a lot of time looking at them. It's nerve wrecking..,, let me know how things go.

How about Silver Laced Wyandotte? Are you got at sexing them as well? I have 2 of those too.
