Any clue what gender this is? We are pretty sure it’s a roo but a second opinion never hurts, not exactly sure how old, pretty sure around 2 1/2 months most likely.

2nd is a cockerel, others are possible cockerels
This one is 5 weeks old today. What do you think? Thank you in advance!

Looking like a pullet
Good morning everyone! Just wondering if you guys could help identify this cockerel? Someone said this is a black jersey giant but I was told it’s a barred rock? He doesn’t have black legs, they’re more yellow with black running his shanks. Also, he most def has some barred white. Not a lot but it’s there. 7 weeks old
Where did you get him?
Darn I started my own! But I'll post here too. 6 week old welsummer - I think pullet coz no red in comb and no black in chest, but she has really thick legs and gets on like a rooster, and had no eyeliner when small, so I dunno...

What do you think?

Thanks in advance!! :thumbsup

Rhode Island Reds
A -
Lighter in colour, more speckles feathers
B - Much more defined comb, darker in colour, less speckles in feathers

Cream Legbars
A -
Darker and more defined stripe down back, darker stripes near the eye and a much darker patch at the front of the head, although has a pretty distinct white spot on the head?
B - Much lighter in colour overall and less defined back stripe

Not sure about sex, yet
A few others on this site think this one is a roo, but we are really hoping for a egg layer! She/he is about 2 1/2 months old. We think the breed is Australian Astrolop if that helps.View attachment 2217733
Cockerel
Mine are 8 weeks old. We have two blrw, a speckled Sussex, and a cockoo maran. I think they are all cockerels and my friend thinks the two blrw are pullets. Please help
Cockerels
Most likely pullets
Why a cockerel? She has a very small yellow comb and zero waddles. I’m just curious because I have a 9 week Starlight Green Egger that looks just like this. She was pre-sexed as a pullet. I know that’s not 100% but I am wondering what features you are seeing as cockerel. Thanks!
Male specific feathering is coming in on the shoulders and saddle.

This is Baby, she is a little over 8 weeks old. On my own thread, I was told she was a pullet but to wait and see in a few weeks (this was three weeks ago). She likes to stand tall, but still looks like a pullet to me. Any thoughts? I am hoping she's a hen.View attachment 2219345View attachment 2219348
Looking like a pullet so far
Most likely pullets
These are 6 week old Silkie mixes, pretty sure they are all Roos but hoping the one with the wild feathers is going to be a hen (my favourite chick)
The first is a cockerel, rest are too young to tell
I have four 5.5 week old leghorns. Any insight on Rooster or Hen ?

This is the baby I posted a few weeks ago. Now 13-14 weeks. Red Orpington. Roo, correct?

I’ve been on the tumultuous journey of trying to sex my sweet bantams—I can one Cochin that was definitely a boy at 4 weeks but it’s hard to tell on my other Cochin and my bantam Turken. Fairly certain my grey silkie and showgirl are ladies and my paint silkie is a roo (coincidentally named Rue) and am considering keeping him if so, even though we aren’t supposed to have them in San Diego. My bantam Turken is 9 weeks and my Cochin is 11. Thoughts? You have two definite cockerels, the rest are too young to be sure
Pullet
And please tell me about my 6-week old Easter Egger!View attachment 2229002View attachment 2229005

And finally, is my 6 week old buff Orpington a pullet?

Pullet

4 weeks+ is kind of a given for sex. Darker comb, slightly larger comb and tail feathers a bit longer. It's easier if you have others to compare it to but still noticeable if you just have one and know what to look for.

Hello!! Our little ones are 4 weeks old and I think I have a male in this group as well. Hoping the rest are pullets. I don’t have the best of luck getting females. We have a golden laced polish, a salmon faverolle, a blue laced red Wyandotte, and a speckled Sussex. The salmon faverolle has me confused because the coloring is for a female, but she seems to be getting red wattlers.
Too young to be certain, but none are obvious cockerels
Too young
Does anyone know the gender? They are 6 1/2 weeks old and the breeds are Cuckoo Maran, blue Cochin, and white leghorn.
Looking like pullets
Easter Egger, 8 weeks, any thoughts on pullet or cockerel?
There are other birds in the shots but I’m asking specifically for the gray/brown one :)
Pullet
Easter egger pullet
