All pullets. All very near laying.
Welsummer pullet, just about ready to lay. Males never have that coloring.
Patience. Remember, they've never done this before, and they don't have any adults to show them. Some dummy eggs in the nest boxes will help them get the idea of where to put those eggs.Thank you!!! She looks so masculine! Can't have roosters and by now I'd be crushed if she wasthanks! Someone is laying out of the four... Just not sure who! They only lay in the coop... Refuse the nesting box ?![]()
All pullets for now.
9.5 weeks is too young for male specific feathering.Hackles, saddles and tail feathers all say pullet to me.
You just blew my mind. We ordered a mix basket... And all pullets --- so with the chick being black with a white dot I hadn't even assumed to look at chick colouring in our other mixed basket. I think you just helped solve some crazy issues! It's not a Barred Rock. That's a Black Sexlink cockerel.
Same for me when I got our sexed pullets from tractor supply. 3 out of 6 were roosters...
