14 week old olive egger. Daddy is bc maran. Mama an ee. Her/his comb is totally flat and darkened at about 12 weeks. Any help on sexing or type of comb.

Hi every body,

I bought three Australorp chicks a couple of days ago and i was hoping that i got two pullets and a cockerel. They are supposed to be 8 weeks old!

Does anyone have knowledge of a beetle sheen? Do only Oliver eggers have this? Recently retired and new to this. Hen or roo, so friendly.

That last one is a cockerel. In addition to the comb, look at the coloring compared to the Blue pullet. Appears to have the patchiness indicative of cockerels.

Thanks, what i thought. Is it alright then to breed these guys (as well as my other hens) when they are older even if they came from the same place?
