I'm afraid I have two Roos and one puller here. I have attached a pick of my 13wk old pullet, Stella and the other two are 9 wk old pullets bought from my pet chicken a month ago. Their butt feathers are totally different! I snapped a pic of Stellas fluffy butt. What do you think????? Thanks! Kelley

Stella is definitely female. Need better pics of the Orpingtons.

I think that the redness of the comb and obvious sickle feathers are more important. Some breeds feather in faster than others. Also the pictures are too blurry to see if any saddle feathers have come in.
Do you have any head shots and clearer pictures? Which ones are the 9 wk old ones

I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow the 9 wk olds are the only ones I was able to get full pics of. Stella is the back end only shot :) I was by myself and couldn't hold them and get a pic at the same time. She is much lighter in weight than either of them. They are brutes! Their combs are turning and hers hasn't at all. They were supposed to be 6 wks when I got them and they were the right size then but they've really grown! They're the same size as Stella or larger and she's 13 wks.

The difference in size is likely because of breed. Looks like you have two Buff Orpingtons. They are a larger, heavy set breed, with very fluffy loose feathers. The brown one looks like a Brown Leghorn pullet. The coloring is specific to females. They are a lighter built breed.
