Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Hi everyone! I am brand new here and just wondered if anyone could help me sex my two SLW 7-week old chicks? I believe they are both cockerels however the rose comb is throwing me off a bit. Thanks so much in advance

Both boys. That is a lot of comb development for only 7 weeks.

The one in back looks like the comb is reddening. How old?

The one in front has an awful lot of black but I'm afraid I don't know how much is normal in the juvenile stages for a Delaware. Adult feathering is often different so that may all clean up.

Where did you get them?

I got them from my local feed store. They are almost 4 weeks. I don't know much about chickens, but especially delawares lol

Can you please help me figure out my Plymouth rocks/barred rocks also I have no clue what breed/gender the yellow/white one is as I got it from my church with no info. Thanks! #1

It's a lot of comb for 4 weeks and they feathered a lot faster than I'd expect from a dual purpose. I was guessing 8 weeks! I don't think I'd call the dark one yet but that one in the back, male for sure.

#1 might be a white Rock. Hard to say at such a young age -- there are several breeds and hybrids it could be as well as a barnyard mix.
#2 is not a Rock at all. Might be an Easter Egger. Looks female in pattern.
#3-8 all look masculine if they're hatchery bred and the last one really looks like a male sexlink. Where did you get them?

I was wondering if all breeds feathered that fast lol!
