Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I got them from TSC and they are supposed to all be pullets.

I know all of the TSC's near me have only had straight run chicks so far this year (not sure if this is always the case for every store). I remember a few weeks ago they had the black sex links in. Unfortunately the employees in the store I go to don't really know much about sexing chicks and have several bins of different breeds mixed in together. Hopefully you get a few pullets out of it :( this is my first year with chicks, and I got sexed Dominique pullets, but I'm fairly certain that one is a cockerel, so I feel your pain.

I went back in last time to make sure I wasn't crazy and sure enough the sign said pullets. My six year old told the lady working how upset he was that they turned out being cockerels and that he has already trained his favorite Peck to eat off his finger.

First, we need a full body shot in good lighting. Secondly, are you sure that bird is 10 weeks old? I would have guessed perhaps six, but it may just be the photo that's throwing me off. Third, that is an Easter Egger, not an Araucana.

Here's another photo. As said before, it is supposedly a 10 week old araucana.. Any clues of Its sex?

Specked Sussex?

No obvious cockerels yet. Orpingtons can be very slow to develop, so post them again when they are about 12 weeks old.

Ok thanks, #2 Is one I'm thinking might be a roo. When they go outside for playtime s/he goes around chest bumping everyone and is rough with everyone. I,'ll keep watching and waiting. Lol

4.5 weeks old. Wondering if it looks like a pullet or cockerel? The red comb makes me nervous....I included a side view. We let them out of the brooder to play for a little while tonight. This is my 8 year old son's chicken. He's really hoping she's a she!
