I don't see any rooster hackles but most of the body is obscured making it difficult to tell whether there are emerging saddles. I'm not sure because my other two that I got with this one have no color or comb development so far, but they all have the same mannerism and are so sweet and loving. I posted on this thread last month with younger pictures, so here is an updated one.
I find it much easier to separate an individual feather and examine the shape. Sometimes it's an illusion from the patterning. I'm suspicious of this one, though, because there appears to be a matching set on the lower back.I'm losing sleep...are these male hackle feathers?? They are 4.5 months old. No crowing. I think i should know by now if they are boys. Right? But those feathers look really pointy...uuggh...now i know how an expectant mother feels like. Any help?
